Thank you for stopping by our blog. We hope you stay a while. Contact us and let us know what you think.
My name is Tami Allen. I have been married to my husband Todd for 28 years. I was born and raised in Arizona, and lived there all of my life, but our family just made a move to Utah last month. We are now living in Highland, Utah and loving our first real winter! We have six children, and one beautiful granddaughter. I love writing, and sharing my testimony of the gospel, so I am excited to share some of my thoughts here on Deliberate Discipleship. I also post a daily verse from my Book of Mormon study on Instagram at @bofm.daily.
If you are feeling lost in the wilderness, or like you are wandering from place to place with no real purpose, I challenge you to ask the Lord not only what He would have you learn—but to really look inward to see who he would have you BECOME.
We can come to Him at our worst, and because of Him we can be made whole again. He will literally take the burdens from our backs and cut through years and years of neglect and filth if He needs to, to free us from whatever weighs us down.
We need to remember that while we have no control over the many afflictions we will face in this life, we do have control over how we react to them. A good attitude can change a heart wrenching trial into a learning experience. A good attitude can change a resentful, unforgiving heart into a loving and Christlike heart. It really is that simple. Change your attitude, change your mindset, and change your life!
In this life, none of us are exempt from challenges, difficulties, sorrow and disappointment. Each of us will have our own difficult mountains to climb and each of us will also have moments when we are tempted to sit down and declare, “I would rather die on this mountain than take one more step.” It is during those times that we need to dig deep and find the resilience that we need to move forward, knowing that our Savior is with us every step of the way.
