All in Temples
All we do in families and in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is aimed to help each other get to the temple to make covenants and participate in holy ordinances with the Lord! This is the point! Then, we work to keep these covenants.
The temple is a place that empowers and uplifts; when you enter, the world fades away and you feel divinity coursing through your soul.
I love the temple. I love the sacredness of it. I love that I am reminded of who I am and what my purpose in life is. I invite all to come to the temple. Make yourselves ready to visit the House of the Lord. You will be enlightened and strengthened.
I want to be ALL IN. I want to pitch my tent near the temple, and facing the temple. I want my heart fixed on the Lord and the covenants I have made with Him in His holy house. I want to leave the enticements of the world far behind me…without ever longingly looking back.
My soul craves the connection with divine that happens much easier and with more intensity and frequency when I carve out, when I CHOOSE solitude.
"I have hallowed this house, which thou hast built, to put my name there for ever; and mine eyes and mine heart shall be there perpetually." 1 Kings 9:3
We live in a worldwide church. There are 15 million of us around the world. The curriculum for the church is pretty much the same all over. So, a Sunday School lesson on patience taught in Palermo, Italy on the second Sunday of the month, will most likely be taught in Mesa, AZ on that same Sunday… give or take a couple weeks. It takes massive amounts of organization to do this. But the organization doesn’t end with the curriculum.
God has been clear from the beginning that he is unchangeable and does not turn a blind eye to sin. We, as members of the church, need to hold fast to those things we have already known to be true.
Go to the costume section and you will inevitably find a devil costume with red horns and a tail. Watch a horror movie and see Satan depicted as an ugly frightening beast. He's scary and loud and invokes fear.
