Infertility is one of the many unspoken struggles in this world and within the gospel. It’s okay to hurt. Please know that God loves you and, while answers and opportunities may never come in this life, He will never give up on you
Satan tries to persuade me that the messy choices my loved ones make are BAD, but he is JUST PLAIN WRONG. Loving my children as they exercise their agency is not bad, it is Christlike. Continuing to share my testimony in ways the spirit prompts me to is empowering. Giving them a soft place to fall is what my Jesus does for me.
You will find that the more you allow that light within you to shine, the greater your heart will swell with love. Love for fellow man and love for our Savior.
As morning dawned, not only did the SUN arise and fill the world with light, but the SON also arose, bringing a more permanent and personal light into the world. His light reaches shadows we think of as too dark to see. His light warms our soul where there is coldness. His light carries the hope of better things to come. His light never ends and is always there for us.
Joy is deeper than pleasure or even happiness. It is lasting. It is a knowledge and hope and assurance that there is a God who knows what He’s doing.
We do not heave any burden, reach any height, climb from any pit, conquer any self, carry any mantle, trudge any gulf, become anything, or walk any dreary trail alone. He is in it all.
And also, ye yourselves will succor those that stand in need of your succor; ye will administer of your substance unto him that standeth in need; and ye will not suffer that the beggar putteth up his petition to you in vain, and turn him out to perish. Mosiah 4:16
The bishop’s talk hit me hard.
He shared a very personal story that has forever helped me understand the meaning of mercy and charity.
Being a disciple of Christ is not always easy. It is not always popular. It is not to be taken lightly. But, once we make the choice to follow Jesus Christ, we don’t get to pick and choose the easiest commandments to keep.
So what made me decide to be a mother? SIX TIMES, no less. Am I just verifiably insane? It’s debatable, but probably not my main influence.
It's easy to only see the negative to situations we don't actually know about. We are told not to judge. There's the age old adage about walking a mile in someone else's shoes. As children of God and as brothers and sisters in Christ, shouldn't we be loving each other? We have all failed, fallen and tried to get up and start anew. Should we be surprised that our friends, family and ward members are doing the same?
After much thought and research, I’ve come to the conclusion that when we fear, we reject God’s plan. His plan for us is perfect. Do we believe that? If we do, why would we fear? Jesus Christ understands all our pain, sorrow, heartache, despair, and yes, even fear.
Our Father in Heaven gives us glimpses of His love, everyday. We only have to open our eyes.
Though they are young and their words aren’t perfect, they will enter strange homes and bear testimony of the Savior, Jesus Christ.
Heavenly Father loves His daughters. He needs each of our unique talents and gifts. We will never know the scope of our reach, just as we can never truly comprehend the scope of His love for us in this life.
"We must learn to accord appreciation and respect for others who are as sincere in their beliefs and practices as are we.” ~ Gordon B. Hinckley
God has been clear from the beginning that he is unchangeable and does not turn a blind eye to sin. We, as members of the church, need to hold fast to those things we have already known to be true.
Honestly, this is what I was born to do! Having a baby--partnering with my eternal companion and Heavenly Father to help a special spirit receive a body is truly the most amazing thing I’ve ever done.
