Not only will a Christ-centered foundation impact the personal lives of our children, but it will, in turn, lift our communities. It will have an impact on the world.
Infertility is one of the many unspoken struggles in this world and within the gospel. It’s okay to hurt. Please know that God loves you and, while answers and opportunities may never come in this life, He will never give up on you
Satan tries to persuade me that the messy choices my loved ones make are BAD, but he is JUST PLAIN WRONG. Loving my children as they exercise their agency is not bad, it is Christlike. Continuing to share my testimony in ways the spirit prompts me to is empowering. Giving them a soft place to fall is what my Jesus does for me.
They were firm and steadfast through the night. Despite the boredom. Despite the lack of tangible results. Despite the fact that they were most likely very lonely, underappreciated, and unseen. Despite it all, they were loving and protecting and continuing with their little flock. And they got to know Jesus.
I KNOW Heavenly Father also KNOWS you. I know He loves you. I know that He knows your struggles…even the petty ones. I know that He knows how to alleviate even your heaviest burdens. I know that He desires to help and bless you on your way back home, and I know that He WILL…if you will HEAR HIM.
In a world where women are demeaned, abused and undervalued, I am deeply grateful and comforted that the Lord has given us divine direction about our true and everlasting role in His glorious plan for all of His children.
He has helped me in my darkest times – times much worse than a mere tantrum. He knows me inside and out, my worst thoughts and actions, and yet He loves me anyway.
He who humbly follows Jesus Christ will experience and share in His light. And that light will grow until it eventually dispels even the most profound darkness. ~Dieter F. Uchtdorf
"Is our faith focused on simply wanting to be relieved of pain and suffering, or is it firmly centered on God the Father and His holy plan and in Jesus the Christ and His Atonement?"
Elder Donald L. Hallstrom
"We believe in “the ideal of the man who puts his family first.” We believe that “by divine design, fathers are to preside over their families in love and righteousness and are responsible to provide the necessities of life and protection for their families.” We believe that far from being superfluous, fathers are unique and irreplaceable."
D. Todd Christofferson
So what made me decide to be a mother? SIX TIMES, no less. Am I just verifiably insane? It’s debatable, but probably not my main influence.
Church has not, nor is not always the peaceful joyful experience I would like it to be. And it's almost never easy to get there. But besides the wiggling, poking and sometimes really ornery behavior, there's the deeper purpose. And it's worth it.
Heavenly Father loves His daughters. He needs each of our unique talents and gifts. We will never know the scope of our reach, just as we can never truly comprehend the scope of His love for us in this life.
I Am a Child of God. It is one of our most basic doctrines; the earliest thing our children learn. It almost becomes trite. Does it deserve our attention? Most definitely!
Honestly, this is what I was born to do! Having a baby--partnering with my eternal companion and Heavenly Father to help a special spirit receive a body is truly the most amazing thing I’ve ever done.
The Ten Virgins, I finally get it... by Laurie Smith
I've always struggled with the parable of the Ten Virgins. I understood the "be prepared" part, but I just couldn't grasp the lack of charity. Doesn't Christ teach us to give and help those in need?
