So, when Jesus taught his disciples to be perfect, he meant something completely different than what we in the world now might imagine. He didn’t expect us to never make a mistake. He didn’t expect us to speak, act, and be the finished product He helped designed us to be----YET.
Many times in just a few verses (Genesis 39), we’re told that the Lord was with Joseph. Joseph knew who he was, whose he was, and just what that meant. Joseph had made sacred covenants, been taught the gospel of Jesus Christ, and desired to live the Lord’s law (particularly the law of chastity here). He could not defile himself by compromising his (and the Lord’s) standards. When he realized he was in a dangerous place, full of wickedness, he fled. My soul craves the connection with divine that happens much easier and with more intensity and frequency when I carve out, when I CHOOSE solitude.
Joy, contentment, gratitude, testimony, direction, not to mention relief and healing from afflictions that come to all of us, are a direct result of us answering the call to serve .
After much thought and research, I’ve come to the conclusion that when we fear, we reject God’s plan. His plan for us is perfect. Do we believe that? If we do, why would we fear? Jesus Christ understands all our pain, sorrow, heartache, despair, and yes, even fear.
Prophets and the righteous throughout time have rejoiced to know that Jesus is the Christ, our Savior, our Redeemer, our Advocate with the Father, the King of Kings! We have great cause to rejoice in Christ! Let us, especially at the conclusion of the year, rejoice more fully in Christ!
I Am a Child of God. It is one of our most basic doctrines; the earliest thing our children learn. It almost becomes trite. Does it deserve our attention? Most definitely!
Honestly, this is what I was born to do! Having a baby--partnering with my eternal companion and Heavenly Father to help a special spirit receive a body is truly the most amazing thing I’ve ever done.
